Does an Employee Assistance Program integrate with a Behavioral Health Care Program?

New Avenues has provided employee assistance programs for over 25 years. It is highly advisable to deliver an integrated EAP and behavioral health program with one access point. This provides referral assistance and ease of entry to the employee for a broad range of problems, is typically perceived of as a high value benefit in that it allows for short term counseling at no charge, is strictly confidential, no medical diagnosis involved, and has a wide variety of family and work problems that can be addressed within the scope of the EAP. If the member and professional determine that longer or more intense behavioral health treatment is indicated, then the member's treatment is seamlessly transitioned into the insurance benefit coverage through the case management process.
