How Your Employee Assistance Program Works

When we establish a relationship with a company, we immediately go into action. We train management and supervisors to know when to call New Avenues for help and how to use our programs. We also explain the new benefits to employees in small group orientation meetings, and provide supplemental materials for family members since most people will refer themselves to New Avenues.
For an employee or their family member to begin EAP services, all they need to do is call New Avenues toll-free at 1-800-731-6501. Our intake specialists will gather some preliminary information, then we will carefully match the caller to a counselor who is experienced with the particular issues. The counselor will call to schedule the first appointment.
We have found that the majority of employees' issues can be resolved within the Employee Assistance Program. When they cannot, the EAP will coordinate care with their private insurance.
